Summary:
The Quality Care Aide provides a clean and safe environment for children.
Reporting Requirements.
The Quality Care Aide is directly supervised by the Site Supervisor.
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Status and Classification:
This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position.
Number of months varies by site.

Responsibilities:
Assures meal and snack preparation and clean-up.
Completes CACFP documentation (meal production records).
Records Point-of-Service Meal Count.
Assists with active supervision.
Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment including:
Completing daily and weekly classroom cleaning tasks.
Maintaining a clean and clutter free environment.
Assisting with rendering first aid as needed.
Assists teachers with routines, including:
Napping Diapering/Toileting Meals Attends weekly and other staff meetings and trainings.
Facilitates and promotes interpersonal relationships with staff and families.
Knowledge:
Safe food handling Positive guidance techniques Health and safety for children Abilities:
Read and write effectively Basic math skills Maintain accurate records Works effectively with preschool children, co-workers and parents Communicate effectively with persons from diverse cultures and with varied income levels Ability to follow instructions
Experience:
Safe food handling Preschool or childcare experience preferred 6 Units of Early Childhood Development from an accredited college Education and Continuing Education:
Minimum of 6 Units ECE Food Handling Certification Course Training as required by Nutrition, Health, and Child Development Units Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
Physical Activity:
Continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending or twisting; occasional time sitting.
Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Use of Senses:
Ability to articulate a normal conversation with normal hearing whether verbal or over the telephone.
Normal vision, corrected if necessary.
Environmental Conditions:
The duties of this position are usually performed in a hazard-free indoor environment and occasionally outdoors in weather conditions.
The noise level is moderate.
Atmospheric Conditions:
No fumes, odors, dust, mildew, smoke, gasses or poor ventilation.
Other Requirements:
Department of Justice Fingerprint and child abuse index clearance.
Post-offer physical examination; TB clearance; proof of immunization or immunity to pertussis and measles; and annual flu vaccination or signed declination.
Valid Class C driver's license, readily available and reliable transportation and minimum vehicle insurance as required by state law.
